The result is a 14 credit short course at NQF level 2 on organic farming and permaculture aimed at rural subsistence farmers. African Conservation Trust funded the development of the materials and WESSA appointed Carol Segal to write them. This has been completed and they are currently being evaluated by the Agri-SETA for programme approval. Once WESSA has approval on this course, SustainEd will estblish an MOU with Dovehouse so that Dovehouse can provide the course through WESSA's accreditation.

WESSA SustainEd will be responsible for managing the Quality Management System (QMS) related to all aspects of delivering this course and will ultimately certify successful learners with the Agri-SETA. Dovehouse will facilitate the course and assess it after which SustainEd will moderate the assessments and certify the learners.

WESSA is open to forming these kind of partnerships with any organisation with a good track record that would like to offer accredited training but is not itself an accredited training provider. Our focus area is obviously in line with the mission and vision of WESSA, i.e. the environmental and nature conservation sectors.
