Environmental Educators Course

12 credits towards the EETDP at NQF level 5

This is a popular short course for people already working in the field of environmental education and wanting to brush up on their skills and knowledge, meet and network with others in the field and gain credits towards the National Certificate: EETDP. It is run over 5 days after which you have about 2 months to complete a practical assignment. It covers:

 

Environmental education and learning theory

History of environment and sustainable development

 
Environmental education methods and activities in a range of ecosystems (including auditing, guided investigations, interpretation, using the tools of science, open process framework)
Developing environmental learning programmes
Environmental education goals and principles
Environmental networking

WESSA will be running the Environmental Educators course in Cape Town, Port Elizabeth, East London or Port St Johns, Durban or Mtunzini, Bushpigs Environmental Centre near Modimolle, Kimberly or Koppiesvlie in the Free State, and in Nelspruit during 2013. There are 15 USAID funded bursaries available for each of these courses.
